Planning a trip to Disney World involves a lot of questions. When should we go? Where should we stay? What should I say to Mickey when I see him?
Some questions are easier than others.
One topic you may be debating is whether or not to purchase a Disney World meal plan. Each of the three plans offer various levels of food at escalating price points. Disney tweaks the meal plans almost every year, so understanding your options can be tricky.
Let’s start with the easiest factor. Disney meal plans are only available to guests that purchase a Disney World vacation package (resort room & park tickets). If you’re staying outside of Disney World or you bought your park tickets elsewhere, you are not eligible to purchase a meal plan.
Easy enough?
If you’ve booked a Disney World vacation package, and you’re not sure which meal plan to choose, try taking the meal plan quiz below. Yes, it’s more questions, but I promise they are easy! I even added pictures and incorporated the meal plan changes for 2018. (You’re Wel-come!)
The results of the meal plan quiz are not an exact science, of course, because that would require more math than either of us wants to do in preparation for a Disney World vacation.

Your preferences suggest the meal plans at Disney World aren't your cup of tea. You enjoy the flexibility of dining whenever you want and you're visiting Disney World for much more than the food offerings. Pack some snacks and enjoy your trip!
Disney's Quick Service Plan
Your answers suggest Disney's Quick Service meal plan is the best option for you. You enjoy dining during vacation, but you don't want it to take up a lot of your time and you want the flexibility to choose restaurants on the go. The Quick Service Meal plan provides two quick-service meals and two snacks per person per day. Some of the snacks (Ham and Cheese Croissant in France! Fish & Chips in the UK!) are large enough for small meals. This plan offers plenty of food to keep you fueled for fun days at Disney World!
Disney's Dining Plan
Your answers suggest you'll be happiest with the traditional Disney Dining Plan. The Disney Dining Plan provides one quick-service meal, one table-service meal and two snacks per person per night of your trip. You can mix up the meals any way you want (e.g. two table-service one day, two quick-service the next). The benefits of the meal plan are that you can pre-pay for the bulk of your vacation food costs. You'll also be more motivated to book those hard-to-get table service reservations far in advance. Remember you'll still have to cover the cost of tips during your visit. Enjoy your trip!
Disney's Deluxe Dining Plan
You are clearly someone who enjoys fine dining. Disney's Deluxe Dining Plan provides three meals and two snacks per person per night of your trip. The meals can be any combination of table-service and quick-service experiences. Choose from character meals, buffets or fine dining throughout Disney World's parks and numerous resorts. If three meals per day is too much for you, consider using the extra meal credits to book restaurants and entertainment options that require two credits (such as Cinderella's Royal Table or the Spirit of Aloha show). Remember to book reservations early for the best options! Bon Appetit!
