Complete List of Walt Disney World Activities for a Rainy Day

Even if it’s rainy you can still have fun at Disney World.  Here’s a list of activities, organized by location, for a rainy day:

Magic Kingdom

Great options for staying dry:  Carousel of Progress, Country Bear Jamboree, Enchanted Tales with Belle, Enchanted Tiki Room, Hall of Presidents, it’s a small world, Mickey’s PhilharMagic, Monster’s Inc. Laugh Floor, Pete’s Silly Side Show (Donald, Goofy, Minnie & Daisy), Pirates of the Caribbean, Princess Fairy Tale Hall (Cinderella, Elena, Rapunzel & Tiana), Space Mountain and the Town Square Theater (Mickey Mouse & Tinker Bell)

Mostly dry, queue partly uncovered: Ariel’s Grotto, Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin, Haunted Mansion, Journey of the Little Mermaid, Liberty Square Riverboat, Mad Tea Party, Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Peter Pan’s Flight, Prince Charming Regal Carrousel, Tomorrowland People Mover

Other tips:

If it’s not raining too hard, consider using the Walt Disney World Railroad to take in the views and move around the park more easily.

Fantasyland has the largest concentration of indoor attractions, followed by Tomorrowland.

The shops on Main Street are connected inside, so you won’t have to go outdoors to wander down the block.

Epcot

Great options for staying dry: American Experience,  Disney & Pixar Short Film Festival, Gran Fiesta Tour, Impressions de France, Living with the Land, O Canada, Reflections of China, Soarin’, Turtle Talk with Crush, The Three Cabaneros

Mostly dry, queue partly uncovered: The Seas with Nemo and Friends, Frozen Ever After, Journey Into Imagination with Figment, Mission Space, Spaceship Earth

Other Tips:

Test Track closes during rain, since the final portion of the ride is outside.

The monorail and boats stop operating if lightning is present.

The Land pavilion offers the greatest concentration of indoor activities, followed by the Seas with Nemo and Friends.

Indoor seating availability in Future Land is woefully inadequate on a crowded, rainy day. Consider heading to International Showplace or hopping on a bus to a resort.

International Showplace offers numerous galleries and interesting shops to break up long walks in the rain. The China pavilion is a favorite, as well as the Japanese gift shop and art gallery.

Hollywood Studios

Great options for staying dry: Disney Junior Live on Stage, Muppet*Vision 3D, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, Star Wars Launch Bay and Voyage of the Little Mermaid

Mostly dry, queue is partly uncovered: Alien Swirling Saucers, Frozen Sing Along, Star Tours, Tower of Terror, Toy Story Mid-Way Mania

Other Tips:

The stores along Hollywood Boulevard near the entrance of the park are connected inside, so you can wander down the street without going outside.

PizzeRizzo near the Muppet Theatre offers ample indoor seating, especially on the second floor.

Animal Kingdom

Great options for staying dry: Dinosaur!

Mostly dry, queue is partly uncovered: Festival of the Lion King, Flight of Passage, it’s tough to be a bug, Na’vi River Journey, Nemo the Musical

Other tips:

Animal Kingdom is the largest park with the fewest number of indoor attractions. If you have a park hopper, consider jumping to another park for the day!

Hop a bus to the Animal Kingdom Lodge for a meal or a break from the rain. It’s close to the park so you won’t lose much time during transport.

Disney Springs

Great options for staying dry: AMC Movies, Bibbidi Bobbodi Boutique, NBA Experience (opens Summer 2019), Splitsville Luxury Lanes, The VOID (virtual reality experience)

Mostly dry: Shopping! The stores are close together and some of them, including many in the Towne Center section, are under cover.

Other tips:

The boats to the resorts will not run if lightning is present.

Many of the restaurants also offer entertainment, such as Bongos Cuban Cafe, House of Blues and Raglan Road.
